DC’s Pub and Restaurant is a popular meet and greet watering hole and Whitestown restaurant about 15 minutes northwest of Indianapolis, just outside of Zionsville. It’s one of the favorite greater Indianapolis bars for watching sports on the big screen, but they also offer Karaoke Thursdays and live music on a regular basis.

Specials abound at this friendly Whitestown restaurant. You’ll find free pool on Mondays with $3 well drinks and $8 pitchers, for example. Or how about a lively blues night with Benito on Wednesdays, with $4 Cherry Bombs and $13 buckets? You can count on DC’s Pub and Restaurant for live music at least a couple of nights a week, featuring some of the best Indianapolis bands. Holiday parties and prizes for Karaoke with Gina are big hits too, and appetizers are half-off Mondays every weeknight between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm.

The star of the show at DC’s Pub, however, is the menu. Toothsome appetizers include DC’s Ultimate Nachos, Drunken Cheese Sticks, their signature Famous Fried Pickles, Pita Bread with hummus and chicken or egg salad dips, DC’s Hot Pretzels, DC’s Ultimate Quesadilla and an absolutely legendary Sampler Platter with chicken fingers, mushrooms, fried pickles, fries and cheese sticks.

Some of the substantial side orders on the pub fare list are Tuscan Potatoes, Cup of Chili Onion Strings, the house’s Three-Cheese Mac, Soup of the Day and that old favorite standby of all comfort foods, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy. A nice selection of Salads, Pizza and Wraps fill out the list of lighter fare, which also boasts some irresistible sandwiches such as a Philly Cheese Steak with shaved sirloin, a Crab Cake Sandwich, the Hot Ham & Swiss, an imaginative Chip-Encrusted Tilapia Sandwich, a house Chimichanga, DC’s signature Red Angus French Dip and their Loaded Italian Sub.

Entrees steal the show at DC’s Pub and Restaurant. Be sure to try the Fish and Chips, the Turkey Manhattan or the Lasagna to die for. Every Tuesday and Thursday, dinner at DC’s features “Local Red Angus Beef Night,” when you can get succulent Red Angus Beef raised locally from 6:00 pm to 8 pm for only $9.99, ribeye, sirloin or T-Bone.

Kids love the selections created just for them on the Kids Menu. Ply them with their own personal pizza, Mini-corn Dogs, Mac & Cheese or Pasta with Butter or Marinara, and they’ll leave just as happy as you do.

L.A. Cafe: Cool Vibes in a Vibrant Whitestown Restaurant

Whitestown, Indiana’s L.A. Cafe, also known as the “New L.A. Cafe,” is a hotbed of action for Whitestown nightlife, a major attraction for miles around and just a great place to visit in general. Biker-friendly yet surprisingly upscale, especially for a little tiny hamlet such as Whitestown, the L.A. Cafe offers tons of activities and live entertainment to go along with their excellent menu.

The decor inside the L.A. Cafe calls up images of a swank dining room in New York, in the starkly effective and undeniably masculine color palette of black, white, silver, orange and red. On a rich field of white linen, your table sports black cloth napkins, black chairs and black banquettes, with lots of homogeneous touches all around the establishment. Whitestown and other greater Indianapolis artists regularly show their work on the worthy walls in the large dining room. You might be surprised to see the shiny chrome-and-black motorcycles displayed on big shelves just below the ceiling, all lit up in blue neon, but everything is neatly tied together with the red “Live to Ride” signs on the walls, and the whole effect somehow makes sense.

Every Sunday there’s a great buffet, complete with Eggs Benedict, and every Thursday the L.A. Cafe offers their “Wine Tastings with Deano,” owner of Deano’s Vino in the nearby Indianapolis cultural district called Fountain Square. Daily specials feature discounts on surf n turf, bottled wine, fish, meatloaf, shrimp cocktails and Wednesday’s pasta night. The L.A. Cafe even offers a regular Comedy Night; call or visit the L.A. A few of the intriguing items on the lunch menu at the L.A. Cafe include the Oven-Baked Crab Cake, the Housemade Smoked Pork Sausages with cabbage and onions, the house Fruitilicious Salad with gouda, a delicious Pulled Pork Sandwich with cheddar cheese, the house signature Black Angus Burger, a Blackened Mahi Sandwich with cajun sauce and the Grilled Pork Tenderloin on sourdough bread.

The house gets serious when it’s time for dinner, offering such irresistible items as Frenched Pork Rib Chops, a Coconut Shrimp Skewer, Shrimp and Scallop Scampi, Chicken Cordon Bleu, Jerk Chicken Skewer, Boneless Rabbit Bordelaise, Roasted Duckling, and all your favorite mouth-watering cuts of steak.
